Borror House

Every since I've been to Mudhouse, I've been looking for other creepy old houses to photograph. I came across this old house and thought it would be a perfect place to take pictures seeing how there was an absents of "No Trespassing" signs. I was only on the property for 2 minutes when an old guy driving a white Blazer came flying around the back of the house. I though I was going to be hulled back to his house and have the cops called on me. The old man was very agitated that I was on his property and I had to wait for him to get his hearing aid in before I could try to talk my way out of being in trouble. I explained to him that I just wanted to photograph his old house and I meant no harm. After a few minutes he cooled off and in his thick southern accent, he began to tell me the history of the house.

I wasn't too surprised to find that there were no murders, ghost or satanic worshiping that went on at the old house. He told me how he use to rent the house to a woman and her son. He ended up evicting them on the account that he though the son was dealing drugs. He never said how long the house has been abandoned but I bet it's been over 20 years since the previous tenants. He also told me that the house was built in the early 1800's by a man named Borror, who had built several houses of the same style in the area. At this point the old man started to get agitated again and started telling me how he use to shoot at trespassers with his shotgun. He told me that two kids busted out the windows and broke all the window pains. He called the cops on them, but the kids only got 2 months of probation. He also has an on going problem with hunters on his property.

The house appears to be structurally sound (more so then Mudhouse) and can probably be restored if only the state didn't have plans to widen the road and destroy the house in the process.   There are several barns that surround the house which look to be in good condition.
